March 1, 2010

The sun had plowed through the heavy greyness that threatened to crash down like the snow slowing melting on the awnings above the city’s many shops and cafes, making the day shimmery and almost warm for our little group.
I watched happily as folks convened in the tiny SoHo park at the appointed time. These individuals had requested we commence with my plans for the walking food tour despite the harsh conditions that made me waver just a few hours earlier. After brief introductions we began with steaming hot cafe con leches to jazz us up and fuel our collective hunger for adventures. Three hours later, bellies content and taste buds still dancing we clinked glasses of fine lagers and ales on dark wooden benches and watched evening settle on the streets of the East Village.
I just want to thank you all for such a fantastic first experience!
Yours,
Chef Deven DeMarco
