the Happy Hour edition

February 10, 2010

Thanks to the intervention of my professional muse (wink) I find myself kicking around the City in the whirls of flakes that amount to the 1st legitimate snowstorm of ’10. In pursuit of a lunch special (I neglected to notice the late hour of the day) my insider network pointed me towards a joint I’d been meaning to got to but as so often happens, slipped off my radar for great deal. Arriving at Cabrito, the south-of-the-border sister of Zac Peliccio’s Fatty Crab, in the West Village i realized I couldn’t get the yummy deals I was seeking but had the good fortune to be there just in time for Happy Hour.
I’ve never really taking advantage of most happy hours promos (other than the occasional $3 beer or well-pour vodka & soda) but $3 taquitos in 6 different permutations seemded a good excuse to change that trend.
Full Disclosure- I am writing this having ingested 3 of the six and one of the deep-fried, bacon-wrapped hot dogs that come with assorted toppings and a pint of Dos Equis.
